Esopo, recognized as the father of fables, lived in ancient Greece around 2,600 years ago, in the 6th century BC. In his fables, the main roles are usually played by animals, mythological figures, or common people of the time, such as merchants and farmers. Despite uncertainties about his life (and even his existence), Esop's numerous fables have been passed down from generation to generation and are now part of the popular culture of various peoples, serving as examples of virtues and common human shortcomings.
ABOUT THE MOMMY CALM COLLECTION The Mommy Calm Collection arises from a need: to ensure that our sons and daughters have access to great classics of children's literature in editions free of outdated, appealing, or inappropriate content. With the great social changes our society has experienced in recent years, we realized the need to carefully revise children's stories - especially those passed down from generation to generation.
And why is this important? Because, according to discoveries in neuroscience and child psychology, the period when children usually have access to these stories coincides with the phases in which they begin to develop skills that will be essential in shaping their personalities, such as: - Notions of independence and responsibility (between 3 and 4 years old); - Notions of basic rules and behavioral patterns (between 4 and 5 years old); - Psychological, emotional, and social development (between 4 and 6 years old); and - Rationalizations and questioning of the world around them (between 6 and 8 years old). The purpose of the Mommy Calm Collection is to ensure that our children have access to stories that are fun, safe, and free of inappropriate content to which they should not be exposed prematurely (even though it was common until recently). This way, you can rest assured while the little ones enjoy their favorite stories!
